IFFI Campus 2013
The first edition of the IFFI campus took place from 27 May to 01 June 2013 during the week of the 22nd IFFI. From more than 60 applications , 25 young filmmakers aged 19 to 35 were selected . For the 25 participants and the 12 international experts it was a week of profound exploration of the medium of film. In particular the cross-disciplinary access of the participants and lecturers allowed a reflected exchange intensified by the familiar working environment. Within a short time contacts and networks were established , which had a wide impact beyond the boundaries of the campus itself.
Structure & Topics
The two modules of the IFFI Campus “Lectures and Open Talks” – proved to be practical modes of teaching and debating . While the lectures were organized exclusively for the talents, the Open Talks, moderated by experts, were open to the public.
Main topics of 2013 were: “Go CRLS ! – Catch the Light ” by Christian Berger (AT), ” Sound and Music in Film ” by Jeanine Meerapfel ( AR / DE), ” This is not Hollywood – it ‘s an African Experience ” by Balufu Bakupa-Kanyinda (CG ) , ” From Real to Reel ” by Jean -Marie Teno (CM ) and many more.
The Open Talks – Film screenings followed by a discussion with the directors – , took place with the human rights expert Barbara Miller ( CH) , the documentary filmmaker Fritz Ofner (AT ) and the old master and IFFI – award winner Paul Leduc ( MX).
A special opportunity for the talents was the possibility to attend two competitions. The IFFI Campus- Partners IVB public transportation services and Innsbruck Tourismus enabled a call for proposals, each for one image spot . The two winning projects have already been produced with a generous budget and can be seen on the channels of the partners and as promotional films in cinema.
We would like to thank our talents , lecturers, partners and all the helpers for a beautiful first edition of the IFFI campus in 2013.
